15 Celebrity Dog Dads

It may sound cliché, but celebrities really are just like us. Behind the scenes, celebrities enjoy the same things we do, like sleeping in late, cozying up to a good book, or even coming home to a loving fur baby.

Despite their hectic and demanding schedules, a surprising number of celebrities are proud dog dads. In a career where so much time is spent on the road, many celebrities turn to their dog for stability and support. Plus, whether you're a celebrity or not, there's nothing more comforting than cuddling up with a sweet pup!

In honor of Father’s Day we decided to highlight 15 celebrity dog dads that take pride in the title.

Tom Brady

We're sure Brady's dogs Lua and Scooby would be his No. 1 fans no matter what, but the Super Bowl wins probably help.

John Legend

John Legend runs a full house with plenty of pooches to keep him company, including bulldog Pablo, two French bulldogs, Penny and Pippa, and a rescue poodle named Petey. John is such a devoted dog dad, he even officiated a wedding for two of his furry friends.

George Clooney

This A-list celebrity is also the devoted doggie dad to his three rescue pups. He adopted Millie as a friend for his other two rescue dogs, Louie and Einstein. Clooney rescued Einstein when he was 5-years-old and on a euthanasia schedule – a very lucky dog!

Zac Efron

Efron joined the much-loved dog dad squad in 2018 when he adopted a dog who would've been euthanized without help.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

The Rock loves his little buddy Hobbs (named after his Fast and the Furious character, obviously) so much so that Hobbs goes everywhere with him, even the gym every morning for a workout!

Justin Theroux

Theroux not only rescues his own adorable pooches, he helps other shelter pups find families via Instagram, too!

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds is not only the Sexiest Man Alive, but he is also a PAWsome dog dad to pups Baxter and Billie. The “Deadpool” actor rescued Baxter from a Houston animal shelter in 2009 and then adopted Billie with wife Blake Lively in 2016. Like any proud parent, Reynolds shared his joy when Billie completed obedience training and was declared a “leash-free, stress-free, fur covered badass.”

Adam Sandler

Sandler sure loves his bulldogs! Choosing his pooch Meatball to be the best man at his 2003 wedding, the actor has also owned bulldogs named Matzoball and Babu.

Chris Evans

The “Captain America” star adopted his furry BFF Dodger from a kennel and he’s been nothing short of smitten with him ever since. The heartthrob is always chatting about Dodger in interviews and posting pics and videos of him on social media, and honestly, it’s more than our hearts can handle.

Tom Holland

Off-screen, this Spider-Man star has a pretty amazing and adorable sidekick.

Hugh Jackman

He may play a fierce mutant in X-Men, but in real life Hugh Jackman is a warm, loving father to his two dogs, Dali and Allegra.

Bradley Cooper

Cooper is a dog dad to two adorable pups. He rescued Samson when he saw the German Short-Haired Pointer on a kill-shelter site and he fell in love with 7-year-old Charlotte at an adoption drive.

Jake Gyllenhaal

This movie star hasn’t just adopted one dog, but two. And he named them both after “To Kill A Mockingbird” characters, Boo Radley and Atticus. How adorable is that? Doggie Dad goals right there.

Simon Cowell

While he may have been quite stern as a judge, Cowell is actually a softie when it comes to pups and a big supporter of animal welfare. He even has three rescue pups of his own. And the trio, Squiddly, Diddly and Freddie, often join him alongside campaigns.

Gerard Butler

Gerard Butler has an adorable little rescue called Shushka. It is very clear that they are two peas in a pod. He rescued her while he was on location. As Butler explained, “She was a stray while I was filming up a mountain in Bulgaria. Stole my heart.”
